Weddings provide an opportunity to add a little enchantment and fantasy to your day and it is little wonder that fairytale remains a popular wedding theme. Even if you are not heading down the fairytale theme road, you can still add a little enchantment to your day with some enchanting wedding favors.

If the thought of handing out chocolates or cheap personalized trinkets doesn't appeal then take some inspiration from these favor ideas:

* Top your favor boxes with beautiful faux flowers or fresh ones if you can afford it. Alternatively check out your local craft store for some pretty embellishments such as butterflies and birds.

* Look around for some novel favor holders such as miniature birds nests, watering cans or picnic baskets.

* Crystal paperweights make stunning favors and come in a wide range of different shapes and sizes.

* Christmas tree baubles are available in a wide range of colors and finishes and with the addition of some personalized ribbon they make lovely keepsakes that your guests are only obliged to produce once a year!

* Photograph frames may seem a little gimmicky, given their popularity as wedding favors but if you search gift stores and interior stores you can find some beautiful styles which will stand out as being that little bit different.

* Make your own fabric bags into which you add candies, candles or mini soaps. Use fabrics such as silk devore, velvet, embroidered satins and even lace.

* Mini cakes or cupcakes are very popular and a simple vanilla cake topped with fondant and a sugar rose looks so lovely on your tables and doesn't cost the earth either.

* Silver plated goods are relatively inexpensive and are particularly nice for small intimate weddings. Look for trinket boxes, frames, bud vases and keychains.

* Candles are nice wedding favors for any style of wedding, but you can make them extra special by including a nice holder with them. Look for designs in crystal, glass, chrome or silver plate.

* Make your own jewelry for your guests from silver plate components and crystal beads. Jewelry making is very easy to do and the components are very inexpensive. Make earrings or bracelets for the female guests and keychains, tie slides or cufflinks for your male guests.

* Visit sites like Etsy or Ebay and grab yourself some vintage items such as jewelry, trinkets, ornaments or even things like vintage postcards, books or comics. You could even look for vintage embellishments to add to your favor packaging.
